Much of my recent writing and research has been on the Greek Myths and I can offer a 30 minute retelling of the Minotaur origin story supported by masks, props and audio, followed by a talk on how the myths explore many of the same human quests, desires and choices described by people writing today.

Rates for the talks start at £130 plus any travel expenses outside Oxfordshire. I'm flexible on the talk content, scope and duration. Please email with any questions on bookings and for more info.

Most visits would be for one or two class groups and last around two hours. Talks support curriculum work being done by Years 5, 6 and 7 - or older students with an emphasis on pathways into sources, settings and other elements of writing prose. I can draft the talks to support any work relevant to the student group.

ON THE DAY

I also offer talks on the Blitz, life on the Homefront and chapters from the World Wars. My chief aim with any visit is to encourage a sense of wonder for reading and the creative power of the written word.
